Sweet Soy Sauce Braised Flatfish with Sesame Oil

- flatfish 200g
- Soy sauce 2tablespoons
- Sugar 1tablespoon
- sesame oil 1teaspoon
- Water 100ml
- Ginger 1slice
- green onion 1stalk
- Garlic 1clove
Instructions
- In a pan, combine soy sauce, sugar, water, ginger, and minced garlic, bringing it to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer and add the flatfish to the sauce.
- Cover the pan and let the fish braise for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- While braising, chop the green onion and set it aside for garnish.
- After 20 minutes, check if the fish is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and stir gently to incorporate the flavor.
- Serve the braised flatfish on a plate and garnish with chopped green onion.
